Franz Pleickardt Reinhard von Gemmingen (born September 18, 1870 in Neckarzimmern ; † January 9, 1927 ibid) was the grand ducal chamberlain of Baden and landlord of Neckarzimmern, Leibenstadt , Beihingen , Maienfels and Widdern . He was also a legal knight of the Order of St. John .

Life

He was the eldest son of the Neckarzimmer landlord Friedrich von Gemmingen (1823-1882) and Pauline Freiin vom Holtz (1837-1921). Since the father died early, Franz Pleickardt was transferred to the reserve of the Gardes du corps regiment in 1895 in order to take over the management of the family property. He and his wife Margarethe von Kalckreuth, who was married in 1896, took up residence in Neckarzimmern Castle , and during the winter months the family lived in a town house in Karlsruhe from 1909 to 1917 , where their sons attended school.

During the First World War he took an active part in fighting on various fronts, but suffered a heart condition that made it impossible for him to continue managing the family property, so his wife took over these tasks.
