Franz Rediger
Franz Rediger (born October 19, 1883 in Kamen ; † February 1, 1949 ) was a German politician. From August 23, 1946 to November 18, 1948 he was Lord Mayor of Münster .
Rediger moved to Münster in 1922 and on July 1 of the same year he became a member of the board of the State Insurance Institution of Westphalia . Until 1933 he was a member of the city council and city councilor in the magistrate.
After the seizure of power in 1933, he was dismissed from all offices at the instigation of the National Socialists . After the Second World War , he was elected councilor on August 15, 1946. A week later he was unanimously elected Lord Mayor of Münster in the first free election after the war. Rediger was re-elected on January 29, 1948. Rediger was instrumental in the construction and development of the Sentrup district .
