Franz Schmid (born May 25, 1895 in Marktoberdorf ; † November 10, 1937 in Augsburg ) was a German politician ( NSDAP ).

Live and act

After attending elementary school and the humanistic grammar school in Dillingen, Schmid studied at the civil engineering department of the Technical University of Munich . This was interrupted from 1914 to 1918 by participating in the First World War , in which he was deployed as a reserve lieutenant in the 19th Bavarian field artillery regiment. In 1919 he was a member of the Epp Freikorps . He then completed his studies as a civil engineer in 1922. From 1922 to 1933 Schmid worked as a civil engineer in the construction company Xaver Schmid in Marktoberdorf.

Schmid joined the NSDAP in 1923, where he then founded the local group in his hometown. From 1929 to 1933 he was a member of the Marktoberdorf municipal council. He also joined the SA , where he was promoted to Standartenführer at the beginning of December 1936 and from that point on was SA leader z. V. of the SA Brigade 86 "Swabians".

From April 24, 1932 to March 19, 1933, Schmid was a member of the Bavarian State Parliament . From March 7, 1933 to February 17, 1935, Schmid was also active as a leader in the Reich Labor Service, most recently as leader of Group 305. From February 17, 1935, Schmid was also deputy Gauleiter in Gau Schwaben in Augsburg.

From March 1936 until his death in 1937 Schmid was a member of the National Socialist Reichstag as a member of constituency 24 (Upper Bavaria-Swabia) .
