Franz Schotte (born December 16, 1878 in Hildesheim , † October 23, 1934 in Hameln ) was a German theologian.

Live and act

Franz Schotte was born in Hildesheim in 1878 as the son of a cashier and after finishing school he studied Protestant theology at the Georg August University in Göttingen , where he also became a member of the association and later fraternity of Holzminda in 1898 . After passing the first exam, he went to Loccum Abbey to prepare for the second exam, which he finally passed successfully. In 1904 he became a scientific assistant teacher in Oldenburg and Stade , in 1908 assistant preacher and then pastor in Bederkesa . In 1920 he went to the Minster Church of St. Bonifatius in Hameln as pastor and third city preacher , where he became the second city preacher in 1924, and in 1929 the first city preacher and senior of the Ministry of the City of Hameln; since 1930 he has also been running the superintendent business there. Shortly before his death, he was appointed superintendent of the Göttingen 2 church district and first pastor of the St. Jacobi Church in Göttingen. In addition, he worked as head of the Hameln branch of the Gustav Adolf Association and was chairman of the Hameln district church council. Schotte died in 1934 at a meeting of the church council in Hameln.
