Franz Stanonik

Franz Stanonik (born November 4, 1841 in Bischoflack-Zauchen , † December 29, 1918 in Graz ) was an Austrian Roman Catholic clergyman , theologian and university professor .

Life

Stanonik graduated from Laibach high school . From 1860 he began to study theology, and in 1864 he was ordained a priest . He became chaplain in Altlack and in 1869 at the University of Graz as Dr. theol. PhD . In 1869 he received the chair for dogmatics at this university. At the same time he was a secular priest in the diocese of Seckau .

Stanonik was appointed in 1886 in addition to his professorship fürstbischöflicher consistory and was from 1894 to 1910 the position as the advice of the fürstbischöflich seckauischen Offizialats held. He retired in 1913 after becoming increasingly blind. Also in 1913, he was appointed papal house prelate and was also awarded the Commander's Cross of the Franz Joseph Order .

Stanonik was given the title of court counselor.
