Franz Thuro von Großkreutz

Franz Thuro von Großkreutz (* 1712 - † August 1769 in Aken (Elbe) ) was a Prussian colonel , chief of garrison regiment No. 4 and knight of the Swedish Order of the Sword .

Life

Großkreutz was born in Sweden and entered Prussian service in 1740 . Under Friedrich II. He came as a captain in the newly established infantry regiment "Margrave Heinrich" . There he was promoted to major on March 24, 1744 . In May 1753 he came to the fusilier regiment "von Jungkenn" , there he became lieutenant colonel in 1764 and later a colonel .

After the Seven Years' War in 1765, he was appointed chief of Garrison Regiment No. 4 . He died in Acken in August 1769.
