Franz Wolfinger (theologian)

Franz Wolfinger (* 1940 ) is a German Roman Catholic fundamental theologian, missiologist and university professor.

Life

After studying philosophy and theology, Wolfinger completed his doctorate and habilitation at the Catholic Theological Faculty of the Ludwig Maximilians University in Munich under Heinrich Fries . At the Institute for Fundamental Theology there, he worked as a scientific assistant and then took on the role of director of the 1979 newly established Institute for Mission Theological Basic Research at missio Munich. The Philosophical-Theological University Benediktbeuern of the Salesians Don Bosco appointed him honorary professor at the local institute for systematic theology.
