Franz Wunderlich

Franz Wunderlich (born October 11, 1963 in Cologne ) is a former German amateur footballer who completed two short Bundesliga appearances for 1. FC Cologne .

In the summer of 1989, Franz Wunderlich from SC Viktoria Köln , for whom he played in the DFB Cup in 1986/87 , switched to the amateurs of 1. FC Köln. In the 1990/91 season , the then coach of the professional team, Erich Rutemöller , changed him on matchday 10 in the 4-0 win against FC Bayern Munich in the 80th minute for Olaf Janßen and on matchday 17 in a 2-2 against the 1. FC Kaiserslautern in the 58th minute for Andreas Gielchen one. He was also a member of the 1. FC Köln squad this cup season , but the club missed winning the title this season with a 3: 4 on penalties in the final against SV Werder Bremen . Mostly, however, during his time at 1. FC Köln, Wunderlich played as captain of the amateurs in what was then the Oberliga Nordrhein .

After his active career, Wunderlich trained various amateur clubs in and around Cologne, including the upper division FC Junkersdorf . From 2004 to 2006 he was the trainer of the SpVg. Porz , with the club he achieved promotion to the Mittelrhein Association League . Franz Wunderlich has been the sporting director of FC Viktoria Köln since July 1st, 2011 .

Wunderlich's son Mike is a professional footballer.
