Franz Xaver Meitinger

Franz Xaver Meitinger (born May 10, 1905 in Ried ; † July 25, 1966 ) was a German lawyer and politician ( BP ).

Life and work

After graduating from high school, Meitinger began studying law and political science in Munich and Erlangen , which he initially completed with the first and in 1936 with the second state examination in law. He then worked as a lawyer in Munich. From 1941 to 1945 he took part in the Second World War as a soldier . During the war he was first employed as a stretcher on the Eastern Front and then, after being wounded in 1942, as paymaster in various ammunition plants.

Meitinger had been managing director of a grocery wholesaler in Neumarkt in der Oberpfalz since July 1945 . He received his PhD in 1948 for Dr. jur. utr. , was again admitted to the bar and eventually practiced this profession in his hometown.

He was a member of the Catholic student union KStV Karolingia Munich.

MP

Meitinger was a member of the Bavarian State Parliament in 1950/51 . He belonged to the German Bundestag in its first legislative period from September 26, 1951, when he replaced the resigned MP Gebhard Seelos , until 1953. Since December 14, 1951 he was a member of the Federal Union (FU) faction . He entered parliament through the Bavarian State List .
