Franz Xaver Schönbrunner

Franz Xaver Schönbrunner (* 1845 in Vienna ; † April 22, 1903 in Molz, Kirchberg am Wechsel ) was an Austrian painter.

Franz Xaver Schönbrunner was the son of the carpenter Johann Schönbrunner and brother of Josef (1831–1905), Karl (1832–1877) and Ignaz Schönbrunner (1835–1900), all of whom worked as painters.

From 1868 to 1869 he studied as a trainee at the arts and crafts school of the Austrian Museum for Industry and Commerce under Ferdinand Laufberger . After study trips to Italy, he returned to Vienna in 1872 and worked there as a decorative painter on the buildings on the Ringstrasse.
