Franz Xaver Zweimüller

Franz Xaver Zweimüller (born November 14, 1904 in Polling im Innkreis ; † February 12, 1988 there ) was an Upper Austrian politician ( VF / ÖVP ) and businessman. He was Vice Mayor of Polling im Innkreis and from 1949 to 1967 a member of the Upper Austrian Landtag .

education and profession

After attending primary school in his home town of Polling in the Innkreis, Zweimüller switched to the community school in the district capital of Braunau am Inn . He completed his schooling at the commercial school in the city of Wels and subsequently became a businessman in Polling im Innkreis, where he completed his practical training at the companies Stadlbauer, Hiestand and Mitterhauser in Wels. In 1927 he took over his parents' business and was also a committee member of the cooperative of traders in Altheim and the surrounding area.

Politics and functions

Zweimüller became active as district leader of the Heimwehr in the Braunau am Inn district from 1928 and was district leader of the Fatherland Front in Braunau am Inn from 1934. He also worked from 1935 to 1938 as district leader of the front militia . In the professional representation he was active from 1934 as a member of the Upper Austrian merchants' union, between 1935 and 1938 he was also deputy head of the trade committee for the Braunau district and councilor of the chamber of commerce.

After the Second World War, in 1945 he took over the position of head of the trade committee for the Braunau am Inn district, and from 1946 to 1950 he was again a member of the Chamber of Commerce's council and from 1953 was a committee member of the body of food retailers and textile goods retailers in Upper Austria. He was also active within the party from 1952 as the main district chairman of the ÖVP Braunau am Inn and represented his party as a councilor in Polling im Innkreis. At times he also held the office of Vice Mayor of Polling. Between November 5, 1949 and November 16, 1967 he represented the People's Party in the Upper Austrian Landtag.
