Franz von Fürth

Franz von Fürth (baptized April 1, 1695 in Aachen ; † July 2, 1773 there ) was aldermen and mayor of the imperial city of Aachen .

Life

Franz von Fürth was baptized on April 1, 1695 in Aachen. His father was the lay judge and multiple mayor Johann Wilhelm von Fürth (1648–1698), his mother his third wife Maria Katharina von Momm († 1715).

In 1716 Franz von Fürth was elected aldermen together with Leonhard Joseph von Lamberts zu Cortenbach , and they were sworn in on September 9 of this year. In the same year they joined the star guild, the professional representation of the Aachen lay judges. Franz von Fürth was still a minor at the time - you came of age at 25 - and was under a guardian. When he died in 1717, Franz von Fürth had already demonstrated his abilities to such an extent that he was declared of legal age at an early stage. In total, he was a member of the large council 19 times and the small council 10 times. From 1748 to 1755 he was mayor four times alternating with Alexander Theodor von Oliva for two years . The statement that he was supposed to have been present at the conclusion of the Peace of Aachen in 1748 cannot be substantiated by sources.

Kasteel Rivieren, family seat until 1910

On July 1, 1717, Franz von Fürth married Anna Maria Konstantia Schrick († 1759), a daughter of the lay judge and former mayor Johann Albrecht Schrick (1646–1702) in St. Foillan . Nine children were born from this marriage. Through his first wife he came into possession of Kasteel Rivieren in Klimmen in the municipality of Voerendaal near Heerlen , which his father-in-law had acquired and which remained in the family until 1910. In 1765 Franz von Fürth married Franziska Anna Elisabeth von Proff. This marriage remained childless. His well-known descendants include his grandson Joseph von Fürth and the great-grandchildren Hermann Ariovist von Fürth and August von Fürth .

In 1767 Franz von Fürth renounced his right to vote in order to enable his youngest son Karl, who was also still a minor at the time, to be elected as lay judge.

On March 17, 1773 Franz were of Fürth and his heirs of Emperor Joseph II. With the naming Freiherr von Brewer, known to Fuerth in the realm baron conditions applicable. Franz von Fürth died on July 2nd, 1773 in Aachen and was buried on July 5th.
