Franz von Milde

Franz Ludwig Hermann von Milde (born March 4, 1855 in Weimar ; † December 6, 1929 in Munich ) was a German singer ( baritone ) and singing professor.

Life

Franz von Milde was a son of the married couple Hans Feodor and Rosa von Milde, born. Agthe . Like his brother Rudolf , he was initially trained mainly by his mother. In 1876 he made his debut at the Weimar Court Theater. From 1878 to 1906 he was a member of the ensemble at the Hoftheater in Hanover . His roles included Valentin in Gounod's Faust , Wolfram in Tannhauser and the Count in the Marriage of Figaro . Franz von Milde, who had already given singing lessons in Hanover in addition to his work as an opera singer, became a professor at the Academy of Music in Munich in 1906 . Franz von Milde was the best man at Bernhard Stavenhagen's wedding with Agnes Denninghoff ; Stavenhagen is said to have responded to the pastor's words "And gentleness should live with you in the house" with the whispered remark that this is going too far.
