The Fraternité Saint-Vincent-Ferrier is an old ritualistic Catholic religious order ("Old Dominicans") in France.

history

The Community, the Dominican -Orden not belong, was founded in 1979 by Louis-Marie de Blignières founded and initially was the Sedevacantism close. After it had already rejected this, however, it was established in 1988 by the papal commission Ecclesia Dei as a religious institute under papal law. Since 1881 the brotherhood has published the theological quarterly publication "Sedes Sapientiae", and in this year the first brother makes his vows. The institute maintains the Dominican religious liturgy according to the missal from 1962. In the year, Rome was approached, so that in 1987 the first brothers were able to begin their Thomistic studies at the papal universities. In 1995 his constitutions were finally approved by the Holy See and the monastery was blessed by Bishop Armand Maillard of Laval.

1998 was the first election of a prior according to the statutes given and approved by Rome. In 1998 and 2004, Father Louis-Marie de Blignières was elected prior of the Institute by the General Chapter .

The fraternity is located in the monastery of Saint-Thomas-d'Aquin in Chémeré-le-Roi ( Mayenne department ) and currently has around 15 members, including seven priests. She publishes the quarterly theological journal "Sedes Sapientiae" . Candidates for priests in the community study theology at the Université Catholique de l'Ouest in Angers and philosophy at the Sorbonne .

Current

In October 2017 the prior was elected for the following six years, he became the founder and first superior Père Louis-Marie de Blignières, the second prior has been Père Dominique-Marie de Saint Laumer since 2011. On October 7, 2017, the Rosary Festival was celebrated, at which the new guest house of the monastery was inaugurated.
