Frauke Brosius-Gersdorf

Frauke Brosius-Gersdorf (* 15. June 1971 in Hamburg as Frauke Brosius ) is a German lawyer and university lecturer at the University of Hanover .

Life

From 1990 Brosius-Gersdorf studied law at the University of Hamburg , where she finished her studies in 1995 with the first state examination in law. She then worked there as a research assistant for Jürgen Schwabe . Under the supervision of Schwabe, Brosius-Gersdorf completed her doctorate in 1997. iur. from. After a research stay at the University of Edinburgh , she obtained the title of Master of Laws there in 1998 . After returning to Germany, she did her legal clerkship in Hamburg, where she passed her second state examination in 2000. Brosius-Gersdorf then worked as a lawyer in Bonn and Berlin until 2004 before she returned to her academic career and worked as a research assistant for Hartmut Bauer at the University of Dresden . In 2005 she followed Bauer as his research assistant at the University of Potsdam , where she qualified as a professor in 2010, among other things, in public law, administrative law and social law. This work was awarded the Marie Elisabeth Lüders Science Prize in 2011 .

In the 2010 summer semester, Brosius-Gersdorf initially held a chair at the University of Göttingen . In the winter semester 2010/11 she accepted an offer from the University of Hanover , rejecting calls from Mainz and Würzburg , where she has held the chair for public law, in particular social law, public business law and administrative science. From 2015 to 2018 she was the dean of the law faculty there. She has also been a deputy member of the Constitutional Court of the Free State of Saxony since 2015 .

Brosius-Gersdorf has been a member of the Central Ethics Committee at the German Medical Association since 2016 .

Brosius-Gersdorf has been married to Hubertus Gersdorf since 1995 .
