Fred Griffen

Fred Griffen (* around 1955) is an American jazz musician ( French horn ).

Live and act

Griffen played in the David Matthews Big Band in the mid-1970s , with which the first recordings were made ( Live at the Five Spot ). In the following years he worked in the bands of Chuck Mangione , Dr. Lonnie Smith , Urbie Green , Stanley Turrentine , Art Farmer , Jon Faddis and Eumir Deodato . In the 1980s he was a member of the Manhattan Jazz Orchestra directed by David Matthews. In the field of jazz he was involved in 10 recording sessions between 1967 and 2011, including a. with Jim Hall , Lena Horne , Bob Stewart , John Scofield ( Quiet , 1996) and Bob Magnuson , Marlena Shaw , Liza Minnelli and Rachel Z .
