Fred Kodlin Motorcycles is a German manufacturer of so-called custom bikes and accessories for motorcycles. Started as a small manufacturer , Kodlin Motorcycles has developed over the years into an internationally recognized brand in the relevant scene.

history

Fred Kodlin Motorcycles had been based in Jesberg under the name Chopperschmiede since the early 1980s . The company has been based in Borken (Hessen) since 1999 . The name Fred Kodlin has since been officially registered as a trademark with the German Patent and Trademark Office .

Company founder Fred Kodlin (* 1959 ) initially trained as a heating installer and obtained his master craftsman's certificate as a blacksmith and two-wheel mechanic in 1985 .

As early as the early 1990s, the sphere of activity extended to the USA. The first overseas contacts were made in the early 1980s, because the relevant parts were only available there. That is why Kodlin imported almost 300 Harley-Davidson motorcycles between 1986 and 1994 in order to refine and sell them in Germany.

In 1998 the first motorcycle frame was constructed in-house. In 1999 - almost at the same time as the move to Borken - our own frame received approval from the Technical Monitoring Association . As a result, the company developed from a tuner to a vehicle manufacturer .

Wheels without axle hubs , without visible brakes , without visible secondary drive, friction roller systems, cleaning ( i.e. the hiding of cables, cables etc. ) as well as the visual refurbishment through filigree airbrush designs are typical design features of Kodlin bikes.
