Fred Schreiber
Fred Christian Schreiber (born May 25, 1970 in Munich ) is a German radio and television presenter, author , speaker and singer . He lives in Vienna.
Life
As the “voice from the off”, Schreiber is the figurehead of the legendary ORF youth program Sendung ohne Namen , which he designed together with David Schalko . In 2003 he received the Golden Romy for the best program idea for this program. Since 2007 he has worked as an author, actor and director for the ORF production Willkommen Österreich . In 2008 he wrote the screenplay for the ORF fakedoku Das Wunder von Wien , which was awarded the Golden Romy for best documentary in 2009 .
Schreiber hosted the broadcasts Update and Connected on FM4 for many years and spoke many of the jingles used there . The music education section, which is also at home on this station and spoken by Schreiber, is reminiscent of the program without a name . His voice can also be heard in radio and television commercials, audio books and film dubbing.
Fred Schreiber was also the singer and songwriter of the alternative genre band The False Friends . During the existence of the band (January 2001 to January 2005) two albums (guest list 2001/2002 and Alles ist Pop 2004) were released. He achieved international success through his collaboration with the Italian DJ and producer Nicola Conte , who made two remixes of the False Friends song there .
Fred Schreiber has written short stories so far, including for the 2010 book We came to stay , in which he describes the political situation in Austria in 2020 as a German guest worker. Also for the book "Österreichatlas" a short story about Millstatt in the Middle Ages.
In March 2011, the solo debut CD Fred Schreiber - The Great Plot with the song Bigger Than We was released.
From 2014 to 2016 he worked as program director for the radio station egoFM in Munich. He has been working there again in the same position since September 2019.
