Freddy González

Freddy González ( Freddy González Fonten; born October 7, 1977 in Cumaná ) is a former Venezuelan medium and long-distance runner .

In 1998 he won silver over 5000 m at the Central America and Caribbean Games .

At the Cross Country World Championships in Vilamoura in 2000 , he finished 53rd on the short distance. In 2001 he won silver over 1500 m and bronze over 5000 m at the Central American and Caribbean Athletics Championships and won the Juegos Bolivarianos over 1500 m. The following year silver followed at the Central America and Caribbean Games over 5000 m.

In 2003 he finished 46th in the cross-country championship in Avenches on the long distance and was sixth over 5000 m at the Pan-American Games in Santo Domingo .

In 2004 he won over 5000 m silver at the Ibero-American Championships and retired from the Olympic Games in Athens in the preliminary stages.

At the 2007 Pan American Games in Rio de Janeiro, he was sixth over 5000 m and eighth over 10,000 m .
