Frederick Abueg

Frederick "Erick" F. Abueg is a Filipino politician from the Partidong Pagbabago ng Palawan (PPP) who has been a member of the House of Representatives since 2013 .

Life

Abueg is a son of the politician Alfredo Amor E. Abueg, Jr. After his father became a member of the House of Representatives in 1992, he was its legal advisor between 1992 and 1998. He also studied political science at Manuel L. Quezon University , graduating in 1996 with a Bachelor of Science (BS Political Science). He then began studying law , which he completed in 2001 with a Bachelor of Laws (LL.B.). At the same time, he was Alfredo Abueg's chief of staff from 1998 to 2001 during his third legislative term as a member of the House of Representatives.

In 2003 Abueg moved to the Malacañang Palace , the official seat of the President of the Philippines , and was there until 2010 Technical Advisor to the Presidential Assistant to President Gloria Macapagal-Arroyo for the MIMAROPA region , which consists of the provinces of Mindoro ( Occidental Mindoro , Oriental Mindoro ), Marinduque , Romblon and Palawan . During this time he received his legal license on May 6, 2005 ( Philippine Bar ). On July 1, 2010, he became a member of the provincial parliament of Palawan ( Sangguniang Panlalawigan ng Palawan ), to which he was a member until June 30, 2013.

In the elections for the House of Representatives on May 13, 2013 , Abueg was elected for the first time as a member of the House of Representatives for the Partidong Pagbabago ng Palawan (PPP) in the Palawand 2nd District constituency. With 57,485 votes (50.03 percent) and a majority of 18,761 votes (16.33 percentage points), he was able to clearly prevail against the candidate of the Nacionalista Party , Ramon Mitra III , who received 38,724 votes (33.7 percent) .
