Frederick Bailes

Frederick William Bailes (* 1889 in New Zealand , † 1970 in the USA ) was a New Zealand-American author, theologian and alternative medicine practitioner who worked as part of the Neugeist movement .

Live and act

Frederick Bailes prepared in 1915 at a hospital in London on a pastoral medical use in Bolivia , when he from severe diabetes diseased. Since the insulin was not discovered until five years later , the doctors gave him a life expectancy of two years. At that time, Bailes was involved in experiments with placebos in London . Its effectiveness, which surprised him, and the observation of how patients were relieved of symptoms under hypnosis , prompted him to think about his pancreas and ask it to do the right thing. He saw in this the reason for his rapid healing.

Subsequently, Bailes dealt with the influence of mental processes on the body. He came across the work of Thomas Troward , which gained great influence on him. Bailes was closely associated with Ernest Holmes and his non-denominational free church Science of Mind .

Frederick Bailes founded a Science of Mind Institute in Santa Barbara , California , which he directed until he retired in 1957. He has written numerous books dealing with the question of how conscious thinking can shape life, solve problems and bring about healing. Bailes lived in Lake Hughes, Los Angeles County .
