Frederick Busch

Frederick Matthew Busch (born August 1, 1941 in Brooklyn , New York City , † February 23, 2006 in Manhattan , New York City) was an American writer.

Life

Frederick Busch studied at Muhlenberg College (1962) in Pennsylvania and then at Colgate University (1967). Busch taught from 1976 to 2003 as "Fairchild Professor of Literature" at Colgate University in Hamilton , New York. He was the initiator of the "Writers 'Workshop" at the University of Iowa and founder of the "Chenango Valley Writers' Conference".

He has been awarded numerous prizes. He wrote a total of 27 books; another should appear in autumn 2006.

Frederick Busch died of a heart attack while staying in Manhattan. Busch was married and the father of two sons.
