Frederick William Fritsch (born October 10, 1954 in Akron , Ohio ) is a retired American bobsleigh athlete .

Fritsch competed in football , track and field , wrestling and boxing while at Revere High School in Akron . After graduating, he went to the US Navy . During his first Winter Olympics in 1976 he was stationed in Norfolk . With his team mates William Hollrock , Earl Frisbie and Phil Duprey , he finished 19th in the four-man bobsleigh in Innsbruck .

At the national championships and the North American championships in 1983, Fritsch was able to win the title in the four-man bobsleigh. He experienced his second Winter Olympics in Sarajevo in 1984 . Together with Wayne DeAtley he reached 17th place in the two-man bobsleigh.

After his sporting career, Fritsch worked as a chiropractor . He was there a few times as a team doctor for the Guatemalan Olympic team .
