The Frederick River is a river in the Pilbara region in the middle of the Australian state of Western Australia .

geography

The river rises on the southern slopes of Kenneth Range and flows first to the northwest and then southwest, where he at settlement Cobra Bangemall in the Lyons River flows .

The river was named by explorer Edward Hooley in 1866 . He was in the area looking for Frederick Roe , the son of John Septimus Roe .
