Frederiek Nolf

Frederiek Nolf (born February 10, 1987 in Kortrijk ; † February 5, 2009 in Doha , Qatar ) was a Belgian cyclist .

In 2005, Frederiek Nolf won the two one-day races Trofee van Vlaanderen Reningelst and Bernaudeau Junior as a junior driver . At the Route de l'Avenir he came second and was able to win the overall standings. He also won a section each at the Giro di Toscana and the Tour du Valromey . In the 2007 season he won the Belgian one-day race Memorial Philippe Van Coningsloo with his team Wielergroep Beveren 200 as a U23 driver .

Frederiek Nolf was found dead in his hotel room on February 5th after the 4th stage of the Qatar tour . An autopsy was not carried out, but a forensic doctor in Doha and racing doctors confirmed that Nolf died of natural causes and not, as previously suspected, through the use of doping.
