Fredrik Wilhelm Scholander
Fredrik Wilhelm Scholander (born June 23, 1816 in Stockholm ; † May 9, 1881 there ) was a Swedish architect , painter and poet.
Scholander studied architecture at the Kungliga Konsthögskolan Stockholm and after graduating, moved to Italy and Paris for private studies. In 1848 he was appointed professor of architecture. As an artist, he painted many pictures with an architectural background as well as illustrations for the Fjölnir saga and his own poetry. He also composed music that found recognition in his day. His works of art are exhibited in the Stockholm National Museum , Uppsala's University Library and in several smaller museums in Sweden. In 1871 he was accepted into the Kungliga Vitterhets Historie och Antikvitets Academies .
