Freshwater is a suburb of the Australian city of Sydney in the state of New South Wales . In 2016 it had 8,866 inhabitants.
geography
Freshwater belongs to the Northern Beaches and is located a little north of Manly directly on the coast of the Pacific . To the north, Freshwater is bordered by Curl Curl and North Manly , to the west also by North Manly and to the south by Queenscliff .
In the village are the small parks McKillop Park , Harbord Park and Jacka Park as well as the Corella Street Reserve .
Of the one and a half kilometers of Freshwater coast, about 320 meters are beach. This is in a small bay. A small part in the south of Freshwater Beach already belongs to the adjacent Queenscliff. There is a rock pool on the northern part of the beach .

During the 2016 census, Freshwater had 8,866 inhabitants. Of these, 4,369 were male and 44,499 were female. The average age was 35 years, which is 3 years lower than the national average. 31 residents (0.3%) of the population were of indigenous descent .
In Freshwater lived 2,354 families with an average of 1.8 children. The average household was 2.5 people and had 1.6 motorized vehicles. Children up to 14 years made up 20.7% of the population.
Most residents have as ancestors English (29.7%), Australian (23.2%), Irish (10.4%), Scots (8.0%) or Italian (3.3%).
