Freusburger Mühle (churches)

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Freusburger Mühle is a settlement in the Freusburg district of the city of Kirchen (Sieg) ( Verbandsgemeinde Kirchen , Altenkirchen district ) in the north of Rhineland-Palatinate . The place with its about 200 inhabitants is in the valley of the Sieg on the left (southern) bank of the river. North of the region on the right bank of the victory runs the Federal Highway 62 and south of the Sieg Railway , the railway line " Cologne - victories " with stations in churches and "Freusburg development".

The history of the village is closely linked to that of the Freusburger Mühle , a former ban and grain mill , which was first mentioned in a deed of donation dated November 14, 1437 and gave its name to the settlement around it. The mill building is now a monument and, after the mill was closed in 1978, it serves as a run-of- river power station for electricity generation and now houses (like its outbuildings) a number of smaller businesses.
