The Roman Catholic Diocese of Santiago de María ( Latin Dioecesis Sancti Jacobi de Maria , Spanish diócesis de Santiago de María ) is in El Salvador situated Roman Catholic diocese , based in Santiago de María .

Its territory includes the Department of Usulután and the Municipios Ciudad Barrios , Chapeltique , Lolotique and Sesori in the Department of San Miguel .

history

The diocese of Santiago de María was on December 2, 1954 by Pope Pius XII. Erected from territory ceded by the Diocese of San Miguel and subordinated to the Archdiocese of San Salvador as a suffragan .
