The Roman Catholic Diocese of San Miguel ( Latin Dioecesis Sancti Michaelis , Spanish diócesis de San Miguel ) is in El Salvador situated Roman Catholic diocese , based in San Miguel . It includes the departments of La Unión , Morazán and a large part of the department of San Miguel .

history

Pope Pius X founded it on February 11, 1913 from cession of territory from the Archdiocese of San Salvador , to which it was also subordinated as a suffragan diocese.

It lost part of its territory on December 2, 1954 to the diocese of Santiago de María .
