Women religious of the Congregation of the Sisters of Mercy of the Holy Cross Ingenbohl were won over to lead the tour. An aid association was founded to provide continuous support and, in particular, to regulate all legal, organizational and financial questions. In 1944 the foundation was moved to “St. Josefsheim Bremgarten ”was renamed.

In 1948 the actual foundation was established under the name “St. Josefsheim Bremgarten ”, and the aid association was replaced by a foundation council as the sponsor.

In 1955 the school and gymnasium were inaugurated and an underpass for the Bremgarten-Dietikon railway was built.

When the Swiss Disability Insurance came into force in 1960, the upbringing and education of mentally handicapped children was recognized as a public task, so that the foundation was able to significantly expand its range of funding. At the beginning of the seventies, the independent areas of psychomotor therapy and curative education service early education were launched. In 1974 the home nursery school opened, later the technical school for socio-educational professions .

In 1975 the central building was occupied.

In 1983, the first residential groups were opened for adults who were able to get used to and severely disabled. In 1987 the management of the Ingenbohl Institute was handed over to the Board of Trustees. The Capuchins moved in in 1988 after the old gardener's house had been renovated and converted into a Capuchin house.

In 1991/1992 the synagogue of the Israelitische Kultusgemeinschaft Bremgarten was built on the site (installation of a prayer room, not a separate building).

In 1994 the zoo was built and opened. In 2002 the new residential building "Haus am Rank" was opened, in 2003 the public restaurant "JoJo" was finally opened, in 2005 the parking lot extension with the construction of an underground car park, redesign of the area and the construction of the special education school.
