Freya Rose Ridings (born April 19, 1994 in London ) is a British singer-songwriter . Her best-known song in Germany so far is Castles (2019), which reached number 16 in the British single charts and was also successful in other European countries.

life and work

Ridings grew up in Palmers Green in north London. She is the daughter of actor and musician Richard Ridings , from whom she learned to play guitar; she also plays the piano. At the age of nine she began to write her own songs. She made her first appearance at an open mic event at the age of 11 . At the age of 16 she attended the BRIT School for the Performing Arts .

On May 5th, 2017 Freya Ridings released her first single Blackout . The Single Maps followed on June 30, 2017 . Her first live album, Live at St Pancras Old Church , was released on September 22nd, 2017 .

In 2017, Ridings was on tour in support of musicians and bands such as Tears for Fears , Tash Sultana and Lewis Capaldi . After the release of the live album, she headlined her first tour .

The single Lost Without You came out on November 3, 2017 . The song rose to number ninth in the UK singles chart, and even topped the UK independent charts . In Scotland , the single came in fifth and Ireland ranked 16th

Freya Ridings' second live album Live at Omeara was released on March 30, 2018. Her first studio album Freya Ridings was released on July 18, 2019.
