The Friedenskirche in the main town of Chur in Graubünden is a Protestant - Methodist church . It is located in Welschdörfli at St. Margrethenstrasse 1 .

history

In 1866, preachers from St. Gallen initiated the foundation of a Methodist congregation in Chur. After provisional places of worship u. a. In 1895 the current property was bought in inns and in 1896 the Friedenskirche was inaugurated. In 1965 it was renovated inside and in 1978 outside. In the latter, a small bell tower from the founding time was removed from the roof.

Furnishing

The outside of the church is a Gothic-style sacral building with a gable roof . Inside, it presents itself as a simple hall with a coffered ceiling . The choir is raised in two stages. The choir is determined by the three-part composition: the Last Supper table (offset on the left), wall cross (center) and unadorned pulpit (right).

The organ was built in 1936 by the Metzler company in Felsberg and installed in the gallery.

The church has a capacity of about 140 people.
