Frieder Wittich

Frieder Wittich (* 1974 in Stuttgart ) is a German director and screenwriter .

Life

Frieder Wittich is the son of the architect Roland Wittich and the younger brother of the actress Lisa Martinek (1972–2019). Before graduating from high school, Wittich worked as a camera assistant for Sat.1 . He came to scriptwriting through the authors Krystian Martinek and Neidhard Riedel , who were responsible for the crime series Ein starkes Team . He wrote the script for the episodes Eye for an Eye and Murderous Thirst . He also worked from 1996 to 1998 in television games for ZDF and SAT. 1 as a co-author.

In 2005 Wittich graduated from the University of Television and Film Munich with a degree in film and television directing . He made advertising films for Daimler Chrysler , Swisscom and McDonald’s . With 13 semester 2009 celebrated Wittich his feature film debut.

In 2004 he was awarded the First Steps Award . The mentorship of a member of the German Film Academy resulting from this award brought Frieder Wittich together with Vicco von Bülow alias Loriot for 13 semesters while preparing his film .

His short films Mosquito (1999) with Liane Forestieri and Michael Maertens and OPus (2002) with his sister Lisa Martinek , Felix Eitner and Oliver Korittke won awards at the Bayreuth Film Festival, the Bamberg Film Festival and the Arizona International Film Festival. Wittich also received the Porsche Award 2004, the Kurz & Schön Award 2004 and the jury's prize at the 2004 International Advertising Film Festival in the “Spotlight Festival for Students” section.
