Friedhelm Busse (trade unionist)

Friedhelm Busse (born February 11, 1950 in Salzwedel ) is a German trade unionist . In 1990 he was chairman of the teaching and education union in the GDR .

Life

Busse attended the Polytechnic High School (POS). He became a member of the FDJ in 1964 and later the FDGB . From 1966 he received an apprenticeship as a fully qualified seaman and until 1970 worked in the ocean- going merchant shipping at VEB Deutsche Seereederei Rostock . From 1970 to 1975 he studied at the Pedagogical University “Dr. Theodor Neubauer ”in Erfurt / Mühlhausen , graduating as a certified teacher in the subjects of mathematics and physics. In 1972 he joined the SED . From 1975 to 1986 he worked as a teacher and director of secondary schools in Berlin-Mitte and Berlin-Marzahn . He then worked on the Central Board (ZV) of the Teaching and Education Union. He was initially an employee and from 1987 to February 1990 Secretary for Labor, Wages and Social Affairs of the ZV of the union. From February 24, 1990 to October 31, 1990, he acted as chairman of the ZV of the teaching and education union and, most recently, from November 1, 1990, as the union's liquidator.

From November 1990, Busse was also chairman of the "Johannes Sassenbach Foundation", which emerged from the Central Trade Union Archives and the Central Trade Union Library of the FDGB. At the beginning of 1992 he was a founding member and since June 16, 1992 chairman of the board of the Friends of Initiative Bildung eV Berlin.
