The Friedrich-August-Wand , once called Hinterer Klexenkopf , ( 3211 m above sea level ) is a mountain peak in the high glacier roof of the Venediger group in the north of East Tyrol (municipality of Matrei in East Tyrol ).
The Friedrich-August-Wand is an insignificant secondary summit of the Kristallwand . It lies north of the Frosnitztörl and rises only slightly from the confluence of the Outer Mullwitzkees in the west and the Frosnitzkees in the east. To the north is the equally insignificant stone on the Ferner . The Friedrich-August-Wand can be climbed from the Badener Hütte via the Frosnitzkees or from the Frosnitztörl (ridge crossing, UIAA I ) or the Defreggerhaus via the Mullwitzkees. A descent from Stein am Ferner is also an option.
