The Hohe Gletscherdach is a heavily glaciated mountain ridge in the center of the Venediger group . The highest peak in this area is the Rainerhorn ( 3559  m above sea level ).

location

The high glacier roof branches off at the Venice Scharte ( 3387  m above sea level ) in the northwest from the Tauern main ridge and extends to the Kristallwandsattel ( 3387  m above sea level ) in the southeast. The ridge that branches off to the south from the Großvenediger ( 3387 m above sea level ) is also counted as part of the high glacier roof  . To the east of the Kristallwand saddle ( 3240  m above sea level ) is the neighboring Gschlößkamm , south of the Eichhamstock . Starting from the Venice Scharte, which is located between the Großvenediger and the Kleinvenediger ( 3468  m above sea level ), the "Obere Keesboden", a part of the Schlatenkees , extends to the south . In the center of the high glacier roof are the Rainerhorn, the Schwarze Wand ( 3503  m above sea level ) and the Hohe Zaun ( 3451  m above sea level ), with the Rainerhorn and the Schwarze Wand through the Schwarze-Wand-Törl ( 3495  m above sea level) A. ) and the Black Wall and the Hohe Zaun are separated by the Hohen-Zaun-Sattel ( 3407  m above sea level ). In the south ridge of the Großvenediger, separated from the Hohes-Aderl-Scharte ( 3480  m above sea level ), the Hohe Aderl ( 3506  m above sea level ), the Hohe Ader ( 3225  m above sea level ) and after the Aderlscharte ( 3147  m above sea level ) the Schwarze Ader ( 2988  m above sea level )

The ridge between Hohem Aderl and Schwarze Ader forms the border between the Dorferkees in the northwest and the Schlatenkees in the northeast and the Inner Mullwitzkees in the southwest. In the south-east lies the Outer Mullwitzkees, which is separated from the Inner Mullwitzkees by the Mullwitzaderle. On the southwest extension of the Mullwitzaderles below the Defreggerhaus there are also Mullwitzköpfl ( 2957  m above sea level ) and the Kapunitzachköpfl ( 2815  m above sea level ). East of the Mullwitzaderl also protrude along the ridge between Kristallwandsattel and Frosnitztörl Stein am Ferner and the Friedrich-August-Wand between the Outer Mullwitzkees in the west and the Frosnitzkees in the east, while the Glexenköpfe lie in the middle of the Outer Mullwitzkees.

From an alpine point of view, the Hohe Gletscherdach is particularly important when climbing the Großvenediger, as it has to be crossed both for the south ascent from the Defreggerhaus and for the south-east ascent from the Badener Hütte .
