Friedrich-Wilhelm Tebbe (born May 31, 1945 in Rotenburg an der Wümme ) is a German conductor , singer , organist and school musician as well as director and co-founder of the Bückeburg Bach Orchestra.

Life

Friedrich-Wilhelm Tebbe received his first regular music lessons from Hermann Bruttger as a student at the Stiftisches Humanist Gymnasium Mönchengladbach , where he also took part in performances of Bach's cantatas and oratorios as a member of the school choir. His music teacher arranged for him to take piano lessons from the pianist Heinz Klein. From 1958 to 1960 he was - under the guidance of Friedrich Kuscer - as a trombonist member of the school orchestra under the direction of Helmut Huchzermeyer . At the age of 15, Tebbe received his first organ lessons from the city cantor of Hanover , Gustav Sasse , and from 1966, after having passed the Abitur, studied at the Kaiser Wilhelm and Ratsgymnasium Hanover in the opera department of the University of Music and Theater with Otto Köhler .

From the beginning, his specialty was the relevant roles for lyrical baritone , which he successfully represented on stage. He also studied school music and organ with Elinor von der Heyde-Dohrn. After passing exams for school music and as a singing teacher, he studied on the advice of his singing teacher (Otto Köhler: "You are a gentleman at the conductor's desk") and his teacher in conducting, Fritz von Bloh, musical ensemble management with Felix Prohaska in Hanover and later at the university Mainz with Sergiu Celibidache . As the chief conductor of the Schaumburg fairy tale singers from 1980 to 1994, Tebbe was successful with recordings of millions. He has appeared in many major concert halls around the world and has appeared in over 50 television programs in Germany alone .

With the Bückeburger Bach Orchestra he played several symphonies by Johann Christoph Friedrich Bach , the "Bückeburger Bach" and namesake of the orchestra, for the first time digitally. In addition, he proved to be a reliable companion with the orchestra in concerts and recordings with well-known singers and world-famous instrumentalists.

Friedrich-Wilhelm Tebbe made a name for himself there as well as the winner of the Guido d` Arezzo competition (with the Schaumburg fairy tale singers ), several first recordings by Rossini and Cimarosa as well as numerous successful performances in Italy , so that he became professor in Padua in 1995 and in Rome was awarded an honorary doctorate for his services in the field of music.
