Friedrich Achilles von Württemberg (born May 5, 1591 in Mömpelgard ; † December 30, 1631 in Neuenstadt am Kocher ) was a Duke of Württemberg who received Neuenstadt am Kocher as his residence after the brotherly prince settlement of 1617. He died unmarried and childless, so that the early Neuenstadt line of the House of Württemberg that he founded ended again with his death.

Life

He was the second youngest son of Duke Friedrich I and attended the Collegium illustre in Tübingen for nine years , but due to his immense stoutness he was unable to complete a cavalier tour that was otherwise common for the time . In May 1617, based on the brotherly prince settlement of the sons of Duke Frederick I, he was assigned the Neuenstadt Palace as his residence. After the outbreak of the Thirty Years' War he fled to Stuttgart in 1621 . In 1628 he returned to Neuenstadt, where he died in 1631. He was buried in the Stuttgart collegiate church.

Neuenstadt came to Friedrich Achilles' nephew Friedrich (1615–1682) in 1649 , who founded the Württemberg branch line from Württemberg-Neuenstadt there.
