Friedrich August Pflugfelder

Friedrich August Pflugfelder (* 1809 in Bremen , † after 1856 in Düsseldorf ) was a German engraver from the Düsseldorf School .

Pflugfelder, son of the copper engraver Johann Gottfried Pflugfelder , who was born in Düsseldorf in 1764 , came to Düsseldorf from Hanover at the end of the 1820s , where he attended the copperplate engraving classes at the art academy until 1849, initially with Ernst Carl Thelott , then with Joseph Keller . From 1847 he belonged to Keller's master class.

From 1835, Pflugfelder appeared with copperplate engravings. For a copper engraving presented to her in Ems The Carrying of the Cross by Friedrich Overbeck , Alexandra Fjodorovna had the Empress of Russia Pflugfelder send a precious diamond ring in 1840.

Pflugfelder lived as a reproducing engraver in Düsseldorf. It was there that his wife Wilhelmine, née Kniepscher, gave birth to their son Friedrich Wilhelm Carl August on February 8, 1838.
