Life

Badenheuer studied metallurgy at the RWTH Aachen . There he was in 1927 with his thesis The influence of the mold and the deoxygenation on the crystallization quietly solidifying blocks for Dr. Ing. PhD . The work appeared in 1928 as a report of the steelworks committee of the Association of German Ironworkers (VDEh) No. 148 in Stahl u. Eisen Band 48. His investigations into the formation of shadow streaks on large forgings received a lot of attention.

After completing his doctorate, Badenheuer started his first job at Friedrich Krupp AG in Essen . In 1935 he was appointed head of all Siemens-Martin and electric steelworks there . In 1937 he also took over the management of the blast furnace plant as well as the management of all steelworks , foundries , rolling , forging and tempering companies and the stone factories, with the appointment of director of the Friedrich Krupp company.

Badenheuer's investigations into the recovery of easily slageable alloy elements in the electric arc furnace and Siemens-Martin furnace are known . In the electrical steelworks committee of the VDEH, he was particularly involved in standardization work. Thanks to his development work, flake-free forgings up to 250 t could be produced.

1946–1948 Badenheuer was a board member of the Bochum Association for Mining and Cast Steel Manufacture (BVG) . In 1958 he took over the management of Rheinstahl Eisenwerke Gelsenkirchen as a board member .
