Friedrich Brunner (politician)

Friedrich Brunner (born August 31, 1850 in Schmiedrued ; † October 20, 1928 in Rheinfelden ; legal resident in Schmiedrued and since 1893 in Rheinfelden) was a Swiss lawyer , entrepreneur and politician ( FDP ).

biography

Friedrich Brunner was born on August 31, 1850 in Schmiedrued as the son of the community clerk Heinrich Brunner. Brunner completed a law degree in Bern and abroad . In Bern he became a member of the Corps Rhenania in 1873 .

After graduating, he was employed as a court clerk in Rheinfelden between 1874 and 1886 in addition to his work as the owner of a notary and debt collection agency. In 1882 Brunner bought a small wire and ribbon factory in Rheinfelden, which he expanded after 1917. In addition, Brunner held three board memberships, from 1890 at the Feldschlösschen brewery , from 1896 to 1915 at the Banca svizzera americana and from 1914 to 1928 at the Aargauische Hypothekenbank.

His first marriage was to Ertel née Ertel from Orbe and his second marriage to Ida Emilie née Wüthrich from Eggiwil . Friedrich Brunner died on October 20, 1928, two months after turning 78 in Rheinfelden.

Political career

Originally a member of the Grütliverein , he then switched to the Free Democratic Party. From 1897 to 1928 he was the mayor of Rheinfelden. From 1893 to 1921 he was a member of the Aargau Grand Council , which he presided over in 1905/06. In the parliamentary elections in 1905 he succeeded in entering the National Council , to which he belonged until 1911. Brunner earned services for the expansion of Rheinfeld's infrastructure.
