Friedrich Fischer (born February 6, 1865 in Stuttgart , † July 18, 1934 there ) was a German SPD politician .

After completing his apprenticeship, Friedrich Fischer worked as a fine bag maker in Stuttgart before he became a bookseller at the JHW Dietz publishing house from 1887 to 1925 .

Political activity

Friedrich Fischer joined the SPD around 1885 and has been a member of the state executive committee of the party in Württemberg almost without interruption since 1887 . From 1903 to 1907 he was also on the executive board of the Stuttgart SPD and from 1906 to 1912 had a mandate as a member of the second chamber of the state parliament during the time of the Kingdom of Württemberg . From 1899 to 1900 and for the second time from 1913 to 1920 Fischer was state chairman of the Württemberg SPD and from 1917 to 1924 a member of the party's central control commission. In November 1918 he was a member of the Greater Stuttgart Workers 'Council and was appointed by Blos' provisional government as an agent for the police in Stuttgart. In the election of January 12, 1919 for the state constitutional assembly , he entered the Württemberg state parliament , but resigned his mandate on October 10, 1919 after the constitution of the People's State of Württemberg was promulgated . From 1919 to 1925 Fischer was a member of the city council of Stuttgart and chairman of the SPD parliamentary group there.
