Friedrich Dönhoff
Friedrich Graf von Dönhoff (* 1967 in Hamburg ) is a German writer .
Life
Dönhoff grew up in Kenya , but returned to Germany with his mother in 1976 after his parents divorced, initially to Bonn. Like his two siblings Philip and Julinka Dönhoff, he attended the Odenwaldschule boarding school until he finished high school. He then studied history and politics in Hamburg and worked during the semester break, among others, for filmmaker Alexander Kluge and for Zeit-TV . During his community service he lived with his great-aunt Marion Countess Dönhoff in her Blankenese house and thus laid the foundation for his friendship with the well-known journalist and ZEIT editor . After training as a screenwriter , he made a name for himself as a writer of biographies; his best-known work is the book about Marion Countess Dönhoff.
