Friedrich Hünermann

Friedrich Peter Hünermann (born August 24, 1886 in Erkrath ; † February 14, 1969 in Aachen ) was a Roman Catholic theologian and auxiliary bishop in Aachen .

Life

On September 5, 1909 Hünermann became a priest of the Archdiocese of Cologne ordained . In 1913 he was in Bonn with a thesis on The Bußlehre of St. Augustine to Dr. theol. PhD . In Bonn, Hünermann later taught as a professor of dogmatics and the history of dogma . In 1937 Hünermann became official of the Aachen diocese.

On December 3, 1938, Pope Pius XI appointed him . as titular bishop of Ostracine and auxiliary bishop in Aachen. He was ordained bishop on February 5, 1939 in Aachen Cathedral by the Aachen vicar capitular , auxiliary bishop Hermann Joseph Sträter . Co-consecrators were the auxiliary bishops Wilhelm Stockums from Cologne and Heinrich Roleff from Münster .

Friedrich Hünermann took part in the second session of the Second Vatican Council as a council father.
