Karl Christian Friedrich "Fritz" Harms (born May 7, 1876 in Wolfenbüttel , † August 27, 1946 in Würzburg ) was a German physicist .
His doctoral supervisor was Walther Nernst at the University of Göttingen . In 1907 Harms described the principle, later known as the Goubau line , for the transmission of high-frequency signals on a single-wire line. In the First World War he was ao. Professor at the University of Würzburg , where in 1928 he succeeded Ernst Wagner (1876–1928) as full professor for experimental physics and head of the University's Physics Institute.
From 1924 Friedrich Harms was co-editor of the Physikalische Zeitschrift . Together with Wilhelm Wien he edited the manual of experimental physics .
