Friedrich I († January 15, 1152 ) was Archbishop of Magdeburg from 1142 to 1152.

Friedrich's origin is unknown. Before he was elected custodian (cathedral vicar) of Magdeburg Cathedral and provost of Bibra , his predecessor, Konrad, who died in May 1142, succeeded him . Under him, the archbishopric and the ecclesiastical foundations in its parish received generous donations, in particular from Albrecht the Bear and Canon Hartwig , Count of Stade and later Archbishop of Bremen. The most important event during his archepiscopate is his participation in the Wendenkreuzzug 1147. With this campaign against the Wends also the conclusion of a friendship alliance between Archbishop Friedrichs and some other princes with the Polish dukes Boleslaw IV. And Mieszko III. related (January 1148). During his archepiscopate, the Havelberg bishop was able to return to his bishopric. Archbishop Friedrich died on January 15, 1152. His grave slab from the important Magdeburg bronze foundry is in Magdeburg Cathedral.
