Friedrich Karl Gustav Stieber

Friedrich Karl Gustav Stieber (born November 11, 1801 in Niedertopfstedt , † November 18, 1867 in Budissin , today Bautzen ) was a Saxon lawyer, politician and astronomer.

Life

The son of a Protestant pastor studied law at the University of Leipzig from 1820 and completed his studies in 1827 with a doctorate. In 1829 he became an assessor at the Schöppenstuhl in Leipzig , before joining the Saxon State Judicial College in 1832 as court and judicial councilor. In 1835 he moved to Bautzen as a judge of appeal. From 1844 he was also a member of the Saxon State Court.

From October 26, 1848 to May 10, 1849, Stieber was Paul Hermann's successor in the Frankfurt National Assembly , where he represented the 3rd constituency of the Kingdom of Saxony (Bautzen). Stieber was a member of the casino parliamentary group and belonged to the imperial deputation .

From 1855 until his death, Stieber was Vice President of the Bautzen Court of Appeal. In 1864 he became a member of the Leopoldina . A street is named after him in the Nordostring district of Bautzen .
