Friedrich Karl Werner

Friedrich Karl Werner (born July 25, 1865 in Suhl , † October 22, 1939 in Berlin ) was the founder of the Fritz Werner machine tool factory named after him .

Life

After studying engineering, he founded the Fritz-Werner machine factory on April 1, 1896 at Lützowstrasse 6 ( Berlin-Schöneberg , at that time postal delivery district W35). With the lathes and milling machines that were produced, K98 carabiners were produced in large numbers.

Werner was buried in Schöneberg in the old St. Matthew cemetery in field A, A-SE-057 / 060A.

Fritz-Werner-Strasse was named after him in the industrial area in Berlin-Marienfelde , in the immediate vicinity of the Daimlerstrasse / Untertürkheimer Strasse / Hirzerweg company premises; With the First World War , an enlarged main plant was added to the parent company on Marienfelder Strasse (today's Forddamm).
