Friedrich Koch (born February 19, 1936 in Göttingen ) is a German educational scientist and emeritus university professor .

Koch first studied in the acting class at the State University of Music in Hamburg and then worked as an actor for five years. In 1963 he began studying at the Oldenburg University of Education . After the first state examination he was a teacher in the old country (Lower Saxony), after the second scientific assistant at the Lüneburg University of Education . In 1970 Friedrich Koch received his doctorate from Hans Scheuerl at the University of Hamburg . Here he began teaching and researching in the same year.

With his dissertation “Negative and positive sex education”, Koch presented the first systematic educational analysis of current sex education for children and young people. In the following years he developed the concept of emancipatory sex education and examined the social conditions that promote or hinder emancipation . He was particularly interested in the role of sexuality in the political debate. In this context his concept of "sexual denunciation" became known . Koch later devoted himself to general educational topics such as authority , conservatism ( counter-enlightenment ), the problem of obedience and the educationally understood punishment , the question of virtues and secondary virtues , film analysis (school in the cinema) and reformed education .

From 1985 to 2000 he was editor of Westermann's pedagogical articles and the journal Pädagogik .
